PDP : Lockdown Without Palliatives Will Lead To Civil Disobedience

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has berated the enforcement of government lockdown order, which seem to be taking its toll on the citizens of the country.

The PDP in a short post on its facebook page on Monday, was reacting to a viral video of a taxi driver in Abuja who undressed in public, in protest after his car was seized by security forces for violating the lockdown rules.

The video showed the man, shouting and undressing himself before a detachment of road safety officials, civil defence personnel and policemen in an area within the capital city.

When interviewed by reporters, the young man said, he could no longer bear the lockdown situation, as he needed to work to feed his family, and appealed to the authorities to release his vehicle to him.

The party said the government lockdown without palliatives is equal to hunger and civil disobedience.

“#Covid19Hunger: A taxi man in Abuja undressed in public, after his car was seized by security forces for violating the lockdown rules. Lockdown without palliatives, government interventions is equal to hunger/civil disobedience.”
