The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) and the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, (NUPENG), have called off their strike action after a meeting with the Federal Government.

The oil unions, last week Thursday, embarked on the industrial action which was prolonged till today, due to some unresolved issues by the Federal Government relating to the welfare of oil workers among other things.

The decision to call of the strike was taken after a meeting with the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, and the Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige.
