Police Arrest Suspected Killers Of Ortom’s Security Aide

The Plateau State Police Command has disclosed that three suspected killers have been arrested in connection to the death of AIG Christopher Dega (rtd).

Dega, the Senior Special Adviser on Security to Benue Governor, Samuel Ortom, was reportedly killed by armed group in Jos, Plateau State on Wednesday.

Confirming the incident, the state’s police spokesperson, Ubah Ogaba said, “The Plateau State Police Command on a sad note received an ugly report of the death of AIG Christopher Dega (Rtd).

“On 31/05/2021 at about 2030hrs, AIG Christopher Dega (Rtd) was shot dead by three yet to be identified gunmen in an isolated restaurant at Bukuru, Jos.

“He arrived at Jos from Makurdi on the same date at about 1930hrs. Some suspects have been arrested. Meanwhile, the investigation is ongoing”.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Terver Akase had earlier confirmed the report.

Dega, until his death, was a commissioner of police in Borno and Edo States respectively.

The TIV born hailed from Katsina Ala Local Government Area in Benue state.
