Rangers have not lived up to expectations in a bid to defend the NPFL title they won last year, the People’s Antelope have managed just one win and three draws this season, leaving them languishing in 12th place with six points from five games.
Rangers won last season’s NPFL title after a 32-year wait. They, alongside Rivers United will represent Nigeria in this year’s CAF Champions League.
“It has not been a great start to the season for Rangers to be honest but the time has come to steady the ship, Chukwu, who played for and captained Rangers said.
“First, I want to use this medium to thank the Executive Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, for this honour to serve my state and I assure him that I will not let him or the good people of Enugu down.
“I need the support of all stakeholders because that is the only way we can make this club great again.
“What we need to do now is unite and come together again as we look to do very well in the NPFL, the Federation Cup and the Caf Champions League,” he added.
Chukwu begin his reign as the club’s boss when Imama Amapakabo’s side face Ifeanyi Ubah FC in their next league outing.
