Reactions As Moghalu Wants Nigeria To Move Forward After Abba Kyari’s Death

A former Presidential Candidate, Kingsley Moghalu has asked Nigeria and Nigerians to look beyond the death of Abba Kyari, former Chief of staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, and focus on finding economic solutions that could help the people from sinking deeper into poverty.
Moghalu, who is also an economist, said Kyari would be replaced and the nation must focus on helping the poor.

In addition to his condolence tweet to the late CoS, he further tweeted that leadership position should translate into the well-being of the nation’s socio-economic life.

“Abba Kyari will be replaced; He was a powerful operative in @NGRPresident .

“But, beyond power plays, musical chairs, and a game of thrones, what’s the effect on the extreme poverty of over 100 million Nigerians or the deep instability of the Nigerian State? That’s the real issue,” he tweeted.

However, his suggestions didn’t appear to please many people and many Twitter users who reacted to the tweet expressed mixed feelings at the post.

Some said that he was trying to play politics while others agreed with him.

Bellow are some of the reactions on Twitter:

@kempez2017: “Abba Kyari will surely be replaced. That’s another lesson for our politicians. But remember that over 100m people in extreme poverty was during your time in office. The number has reduced drastically through many policies of this admin.”

@akinbiyiomole:”Thanks Kingsley. It’s not enough to just want power for the sake of power. It’s about making it count. The Presidency should come out and show us his scoreboard despite all the power handed him.”

“I feel very angry sometimes when I come into the country and see the youths of the nation, I mean millions of youths @35-42years of age looking hopeless due to bad leadership in my country. You guys should keep talking g about the bad leadership! Don’t act OK.”

@EchefuObioha:
“What exactly did that gentle man do? Are you tagging him evil because you hear people do so?”

@elowhyt:
“Abba Kyari was a trusted subordinate who stood in for his principal. Buhari’s incompetence and inferiority complex was well covered up in Abba. He had the opportunity to write his name in golden reservoir, but he chose the way of power play. Fortitude to his berieved ones.”

@aliu4u:
“How I wish Mr president would appoint you as his chief of staff Prof.”

My sincere condolences to the family of the late Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to Prez @MBuhari , all Nigerians killed by Covid-19, & to @NigeriaGov.May the souls of the departed Rest In Peace. As John Donne wrote, “Any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind…”
