Reactions As SERAP Urges Buhari To ‘Personally’ Brief Nigerians On Covid-19

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has asked Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari to directly speak to the nation regarding his administration’s efforts towards stopping the spread of coronavirus.

SERAP disclosed this in a tweet on Wednesday.

BREAKING: We urge @MBuhari to immediately and directly brief Nigerians on efforts by the government to combat the growing outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease in the country, as contained in the resolutions by @NGRSenate

However, the tweet sparked varying reactions from twitter users.

Some have advised SERAP to sue the president in the court if they felt he was not doing the right things.

Or go to Court. Because the president appears to be incapable of addressing the citizen.

However, some other twitter users disagreed with the position of SERAP, claiming that the agencies of the federal government (Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and others) have been briefing the country over the issue, thereby keeping the country well informed.
