Repent Or Leave Enugu State, NSCDC Commandant Reads Riot Act To Kidnappers

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Enugu State Command, says it has re-strategised to tackle incessant kidnapping and vandalization of public infrastructure in the state.

The State Commandant of the Corps, Mr Cyprian Otoibhi, stated this in Enugu during an interaction with newsmen.

While acknowledging that cases of kidnapping and vandalism are increasing in the state, he advised the perpetrators to turn a new leaf or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.

According to him, “I have met with my officers on ground, and the command has vowed to tackle the menace headlong and ensure that people are free in the state.

“We are devising means to ensure that the peace-loving people of the state sleep with their two eyes closed and people can live their lives without fear of being abducted.”

Otoibhi, who was newly posted to Enugu State from Lagos, said he would replicate the successes the corps recorded under his watch in Lagos.

In his words, “I will replicate what I did in Lagos here. Within few months, I assure you that there will be practical evidence that Enugu State is no longer a state where vandals survive.”

He said within three weeks he assumed office in the state, he had been able to fix some of the broken-down operational vehicles of the command to ensure that the operatives of the corps are at their best always.

According to him, “As a core operational man, I have fixed some vehicles already and will still do more. The job is in the field and not in the office. It will never be business as usual.

“Kidnappers and vandals should get ready to repent or quietly leave the state to elsewhere. It will not contain them any longer.”
