Rockets Hit U.S. Airbase In Afghanistan – NATO

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has confirmed that five rockets struck a United States airbase in Afghanistan.

NATO-led force , Resolute Support tweeted about this on Thursday.

But NATO added that there were no casualties recorded at the Bagram airfield,
adding that investigations were underway to bring the culprits to book.

The Islamic State, in a statement on social media, claimed responsibility for the attack, according to Reuters.

Reuters also reports that the attack comes weeks after Taliban militants and the United States reached a deal on the withdrawal of U.S.-led international troops in exchange for Taliban security guarantees.

The Taliban group has also denied involvement in the attack.

As of the time of this report, the U.S. Department of State was yet to make a statement on that.
