Ronaldo Set To Be Highest Earner In Premier League History

Cristaino Ronaldo will become the highest earning player in the history of the English Premier League with his transfer to his former club Manchester United.

On Friday, the Premier League giants announced that they have reached an agreement for the return of the 34-year-old who left 12 years ago to Real Madrid.

The announcement led to a 5.8 per cent surge in United Shares in the New York Stock Exchange on Friday.

With the news of his return, Telegraph Sport reported Sunday that the Portuguese will earn more than £560,000 ($770,810) a week during his two-year contract.

But the English media outlet did not mention the source of the claim.

Ronaldo’s move from his current club, Juventus is worth as much as 19.7 million pounds.

United will pay an initial £12.85 million and £6.85 million pounds in add-ons for Ronaldo based on the five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s performance.

Manchester City were reportedly prepared to make a €30 million offer on Friday according to Sky Italia Journalist, Gianluca Di Marzio.

Ronaldo joined Juventus in 2018 for €112 million.
