Ronaldo Sets New Premier League Record With $60m Jersey Sold In 12hrs

Cristiana Ronaldo’s iconic No 7 jersey sets a new English Premier League record after it sold £32.5m ($60m) after 12 hours of release.

Back in 2018 when he moved to Juve, it took 24 hours to sell $60m worth of his jersey when it was released.

The figure is based on the data gathered by LovetheSales.com, a website that tracks sales data from over 1,000 UK online retailers.

The jersey released by Manchester United cost from 80 pounds to 110 pounds, that means it has sold around 295,500 shirts, according to Foxsports.

The numbers have topped any Premier League player including Manchester City star signing Jack Grealish.

Adidas, United’s official kit manufacturer, has struggled with the high demands.

United stated in its official website that all jerseys will not be shipped until the 1st of October.

Manchester United said, “We can confirm that Cristiano Ronaldo will wear the iconic no.7 shirt after returning to Old Trafford.

“The Portuguese superstar famously wore the legendary shirt number during his first spell with the club and we can confirm that Cristiano will have it on his back once again. Fans can order the new Ronaldo no.7 shirts now from United Direct.

“In his first six seasons at the club, between 2003 and 2009, Ronaldo made 292 appearances and scored 118 goals, winning nine trophies including three Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League.

“As we all know, the no.7 is a special shirt in the history of United.

“It has previously been worn by club icons like George Best, Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona and David Beckham. Now, it returns to the man who succeeded Beckham in it, Ronaldo.

“Ronaldo inherits the number from Edinson Cavani, who wore the shirt last season and in our away win at Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.”
