Ronaldo’s Coca Cola Gesture Wipes $4bn Of Market Value

Coca Cola market value lost $4bn after five times Ballon d’Or winner removed Coca Cola bottles at a Euro 2020 press conference on Monday.

Prior to the match between Portugal and Hungary, Ronaldo addressed a press conference where he shifted two bottles of Coca Cola placed in front of his table far from camera view.

Coca Cola is one of the sponsors of the Euro 2020 competition.

Ronaldo 36, however lifted the bottle of water placed along the Coca Cola bottles.

Before the gesture, the company’s share was trading at $56.8 in Europe.

However, by the end of the conference, the value fell to $55.2 per share, shedding $1.6.

The market value went from $242bn to $238.91bn which is a $4bn plunge.

Coca Cola said, “Everyone is entitled to their drink preferences” with different “tastes and needs.

A Euro 2020 spokesperson said, “Players are offered water, alongside Coca-Cola and Coca-Cola Zero Sugar, on arrival at our press conferences.

“We could not organise a tournament with such success for players and fans, nor invest in the future of football at all levels.”

As at the time of filing this report, THE WHISTLER observed that the shares have gradually climbed to $55.41 on Wednesday.
