Second Confirmed COVID-19 Case In Nigeria Now Negative

The second patient, who earlier tested positive for coronavirus in Nigeria has been confirmed to test negative.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire on Friday.

Recall that Ehanire had on Monday announced the second case of coronavirus in the country, saying the patient came in contact with the Italian man who is the index patient in Nigeria.

Ehanire, however, noted that the viral load is insignificant in the patient and he will soon be discharged.

With this confirmation, there is only one case of the virus in the country and the patient is currently being treated at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba, Lagos.

The health minister thereafter urged Nigerians to get vaccinated for yellow fever at designated centres.
