Aliou Cisse’s side entered the game needing just a draw, but fell to a Yerry Mina 74th minute header.

The Barcelona defender headed home a corner from the centre of the box to see the South Americans through to the last 16.

The result means Colombia finished with six points, while the West African nation finished on the same point with the group H runner ups Japan but are going home due to fair play.

They received two more yellow cards in the group stages. Japan has received 4 yellows so far in the competition while Senegal has 6.
