Speaker Gbajabiamila Addresses World Press Conference Over Xenophobia

As part of efforts at addressing the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and other foriegners in South Africa, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila is holding a world press conference.

Gbajabiamila is addressing journalists on the lawns at the back of the National Assembly Complex, which is the first in the history of the National Assembly, much like the President of the United States does at the White House.

According to reports, press conferences are usually held at the House of Representatives Press Corps’ Media Centre.

Gbajabiamila had announced on his verified Twitter handle, @femigbaja, on Tuesday that the lower chamber of the National Assembly might reconvene for a one-day session to address the attacks.
