Imo To Unveil Africa’s Tallest Statue Of Jesus Christ

Imo State is preparing to unveil the tallest statue of Jesus Christ in Africa.

The 28 feet statue, named Jesus de Greatest, will be unveiled at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in the Abajah local government area of Imo state on New Year’s Day.

According to The Cable, the statue was funded and offered to the church by Obinna Onuoha, founder of Premier Petroleum Limited.
The statue which is made entirely of marble, will be the largest monument to the Christian figure on the African continent, with a total weight of 40 tons.

African Renaissance Monument in Dakar, Senegal, is the tallest statue in Africa after Great Sphinx of Giza in Egypt with 66 feet, and Ramesses II, which has 30 feet, still in Egypt.

The world’s tallest statue of Jesus is ‘Christ the King’, which is located in western Poland, Świebodzin. It has a record breaking height of 172 feet.
