Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have hailed the Supreme Court for upholding the elections of all its governors, describing the apex court as the saviour of democracy.

In a statement Wednesday after the court upheld the elections of Governors Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom and Okey Ikpeazu of Abia state, the PDP Governors’ Forum said the verdicts has reinforced the belief that the judiciary remains the hope of the common man.

The statement signed by Mr. Osaro Onaiwu stated that what the apex court has done was to save the country from being balkanised by the APC in its avowal to undermine the integrity of the courts and jettison the sacredness of the ballot box.

Onaiwu stressed that the PDP would continue to work to strength the country’s legal process as well as democratic norms.

While congratulating the governors for their victories, he was confident that they will work to improve the lives of their people which the party has not failed to do over the years.

The coordinator of the forum further called on states like Edo and Ondo whose elections would hold later in the year to identify with the PDP to reap the dividend of democracy.
