Saraki Furious Over SGF’s ‘Senate Talking Balderdash’ Comment For Asking Him To Resign Over Stealing IDPs Fund

“The Senate of the Federal Republic is a big masquerade and when big masquerades are performing, small mortals like the SGF must prostrate.”

Senate President Bukola Saraki was visibly furious at Thursday’s plenary over comments by Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir Lawal, that the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly was “talking balderdash” for asking him to resign for alleged fraudulent cornering of funds meant for Internally Displaced Persons.

Saraki in his comments a day after President Muhammadu Buhari was at the National Assembly to present the 2017 budget estimates, said, “The President (Buhari) came here yesterday humbly telling us that he seeks our partnership, then how can his Secretary (to the Government of the Federation) said we are talking rubbish?”

Also, Senator Chukwuka Utazi in contributing to the debate, stressed: “The Senate of the Federal Republic is a big masquerade and when big masquerades are performing, small mortals like the SGF must prostrate.”

Other senators took time to tongue lash the SGF whose company, Rholavision Engineering Limited, allegedly used over N200 million to clear grass at an IDPs’ camp in Yobe state.

Lawal, who was at the budget presentation as well as other officials of the government, told journalists at the National Assembly; ““The senate is talking balderdash; it has developed the habit of bring him down syndrome,” he said.

“Nigerians have decided that we should destroy our best. We should all destroy the promising and best among us by bringing people down without a cause. This is just how I saw it.”
