President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, has described Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, as a “consummate statesman” whose emergence as speaker has inspired other young Nigerian politicians to take up leadership positions and put the people’s interest first.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki marked Dogara’s 49th birthday, saying he has enjoyed the speaker’s cooperation since the inauguration of the 8th National Assembly.

“Throughout this time, he has consistently demonstrated that he is an emerging modern and consummate statesman who always puts the interests of the Nigerian people first.
