Senate To Investigate Southern Kaduna Killings

The Senate has waded into the recent killings in southern Kaduna by setting up Adhoc committee to investigate the matter, as the National Assembly plenary today (Tuesday).

The resolution of the senate was attracted by a motion sponsored by Senator Danjuma La’ah, Kaduna south on the recent killings in southern Kaduna.

La’ah called on the federal Govt to take urgent measures to carry out an effective investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killings and identify the perpetrators to bring them to justice as well as rehabilitation and settling the victims.

The lawmakers urged President Muhammadu Buhari to provide a frame of security for the protection of the people at risk from unwarranted army attacks as well as establishing a joint security.


The lawmakers observed a minute silence for Ait’s female camera operator, Aisha Helen Ogemdengbe and the repose of the souls of the deceased victims of the southern Kaduna attacks.

Recall that the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria (CBCN) had described the Killings of Christians in southern Kaduna as a “declaration of war against helpless and innocent Nigerians.”
