WhatsApp Extends Group Chat Limit

WhatsApp on Friday increased the number of users included in a group chat on its platform from 100 to 256.

This means when you set up a “New Group”, 256 of your friends can join in the chat.

When your app receives the update, you’ll get a prompt message telling you that 256 people can now join your chats.

The update comes just few days after the messaging company announced that it has more than 1 billion monthly active users and it also dropped its $1 annual subscription fee in an attempt to bring more businesses on the platform.

The update with version 2.12.13 of the app, is available to both Android and iOS users, but its yet to show up on Windows and BlackBerry. Android users who do not see the update yet can download the app from the company’s website
