Sudanese Authorities Arrest Nigerian Diplomat’s ‘Killer’

The principal suspect who stabbed Nigerian diplomat, Habibu Almu to death at the country’s embassy in Khartoum has been arrested, authorities in Sudan said on Sunday.

Almu, according to the Sudanese authorities, was killed by a foreign woman at his Khartoum residence last Thursday.

Until his death, Almu held the rank of Assistant Comptroller in the Nigerian Immigration Service.

According to the Sudanese official news agency, SUNA, the police “arrested the offender, a foreign woman who committed the crime”.

The news agency reported that the suspect has equally confessed to killing the Nigerian displomat.

Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, confirmed the suspect’s arrest in a statement on Sunday.
