Ekiti Guber: Fayose Urges Buhari To Preserve Fayemi’s Seat At FEC

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to not hurry up to replace Mines and Steel Minister, Dr Kayode Fayemi, in his cabinet.

Fayose said this after President Buhari congratulated Fayemi for emerging the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the July 14 governorship election in the state.

Recall that the minister had polled 941 votes at the just held APC primary in Ekiti, beating Segun Oni who scored 481 votes at the primary election.

Reacting to President Buhari’s congratulatory message to Fayemi, Governor Fayose tweeted on Monday: “President Buhari congratulating Fayemi on his emergence as APC candidate is like day-dreaming. He will suffer another major defeat on July 14. Rather than congratulating him, the President should reserve his seat at the FEC because this desperation to be Ekiti governor is dead on arrival.”

Meanwhile, Governor Fayose’s deputy and preferred candidate, Professor Kolapo Olusola, had emerged as the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the party’s recently held primary election in the state.
