He disclosed that before the APC government came on board, the security situation was restricted to the North east alone, but has now spread to the North West and North Central region of the country.

On why he believes he is fit to rule Nigeria, Atiku said : “I believe I am a candidate for the future, because I try to bridge the current generation with the future generation”

On whether his age is not a barrier since he was critical of president Buhari who is same age with him, this is how his running mate, Peter Obi reacted: “in security we are number three after Afghanistan and Iraq. So if you look at all the records, we need someone with experience that can bring the country together. Someone that can unify this country. And I will be there to support him considering the age difference ”

On suitability for the office and integrity of his person, and whether Nigeria has a corruption problem, Atiku reacted this way: “Nigeria has a corruption problem no doubt about that. My view of corruption is the use of your privileged position to either enrich yourself or your relatives or your friends. In order words, abuse of office ”

On his alleged abuse of office during his stint as a customs officer as regards the Apapa Ports, the PDP presidential flag bearer said: “it was an issue of share purchase and at that point it was very lawful for any public office holder to purchase shares. There was the indiginization degree passed by the then military government which allowed public officers to legitimately acquire shares in their attempt to indigenize most companies owned by expatriates “
