The Whistler Publisher Turns 40…Wife, Kids Pen Tribute

Mr. James Ume, publisher of The Whistler newspaper and Managing Director, Channelkoos Media Consult Ltd, is 40 today. Interestingly, Ume hit a new milestone on the day Nigeria is also celebrating an important milestone – its 60th anniversary of independence.

To mark his 40th birthday celebration, Mrs. Ngozi James Ume, extolled the many virtues of her husband in a concise but heartfelt tribute.

Ngozi, a registered Nigerian pharmacist, described Ume as a successful businessman, philanthropist, great husband and wonderful dad to his kids.

She said through his Unubiko Foundation, Ume has continued to reach out to the poor and needy, both in his Abia home state and other parts of the country.

Ngozi noted such big-heartedness to include the donation of over 1,000 bags of rice and thousands of hand sanitizers to Abia communities during the COVID-19 lockdown, as well as the donation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Abia State Government.

She described Ume as, “one who is generous to a ‘fault’, cares so much and expects nothing in return.”

Mrs. Ume wrote, “He gives freely. He understands perfectly. He encourages with love and corrects in love. He is never quick to judge. He is far too loving and kind. He appreciates even the littlest things. He loves completely. He takes mine as his and vice versa. He has unshakable faith in God. He is a GOOD MAN… a VERY GOOD MAN!”

Ngozi also noted that through hard work and commitment to his business, Ume had shown that, “none has an excuse to fail.”

She further lauded her husband’s business acumen, describing him as “a fixer” and “silent achiever” who could, “grow nothing into something without getting discouraged along the way.”

She described him a best friend anyone could ever have or wish for as he, “loves watching others grow,” adding that she admired his ability to remain humble and relate with people regardless of their social background.

In the tribute, Ngozi said she was lucky and grateful to have him in her life. “He is Oke M….Mine… My portion from God! My Forever Bestie, my King, my Priest, my Love, my All,” she wrote.
