Top African Catholic Cardinal Resigns From Vatican Over Unstated ‘Internal Dispute’ – Report

Cardinal Peter Turkson of the Catholic Church worldwide has resigned from a crucial department in Vatican city.

Sources familiar with the development told Reuters that the cardinal stated he was “fed up with internal disputes”.

Turkson(73) who hails from Ghana, is said to be one of the close advisers to the Pope due to the function of his Department – the Dicastery for Integral Human Development.

The Department looks at issues bordering on migration and charities around the globe.

Reuters reports that the Pope was yet to approve his resignation.
