Tribunal Sacks APC Member, Mashi From House Of Reps

Mansur Ali Mashi, the lawmaker representing Dutsi/Mashi in the House of Representatives, has been sacked by a tribunal in Katsina State.

Mashi of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was sacked on Wednesday following a petition by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Nazif Yusuf, in June.

Yusuf had challenged the “unlawful“ declaration of the APC candidate as winner of the poll.

The election tribunal had since ordered the conduction of a fresh election within the next 90 days.

The PDP and its candidate had in a petition (with No. EPT/KT/NA/HR/01/2017) named the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) alongside the Katsina Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) and the APC as 2nd, 3rd, and 4th respondents respectively.
