Trump Replies Russia, Says Missiles ‘Will Be Coming’ To Syria

U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday replied Russia’s comment that it will shoot down any missiles fired at Syria.

Russia had Tuesday warned that any U.S. missiles targeted at Syria over the assault on a rebel enclave would be shot down and the launch sites targeted.

“If there is a strike by the Americans, then…the missiles will be downed and even the sources from which the missiles were fired,” Russian Ambassador Alexander Zasypkin told Hezbollah’s al-Manar TV

Responding to the threat, Mr Trump raised alarm over the fast dwindling relationship between the U.S and the eastern European country.

“Our relationship with Russia is worse now than it has ever been, and that includes the Cold War. There is no reason for this. Russia needs us to help with their economy, something that would be very easy to do, and we need all nations to work together. Stop the arms race?”

President Trump also blasted Moscow for standing by Syrian President Bashar Assad.

“You shouldn’t be partners with a Gas Killing Animal who kills his people and enjoys it!” Trump said, referring to Moscow’s alliance with Assad.”

Trump said despite Russia’s threat to shoot down its missile, the U.S will not relent on its promise to attack the Syrian government in retaliation for an alleged chemical weapons attack on civilians.

“Russia vows to shoot down any and all missiles fired at Syria. Get ready Russia, because they will be coming, nice and new and ‘smart’!,” Trump said in a tweet.

In response, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said: “smart missiles should fly towards terrorists, not legal government”.
