U.S. Election: How Trump Worked Against Himself – Anonymous Group
Renowned international hacker group, Anonymous, has claimed that President Donald Trump created problem for himself ahead of the U.S. general elections by campaigning against mail-in voting.
The group reacted after President Trump complained about “devastating” figures arising from the counting of mail-in ballots.
The U.S. president had tweeted on Wednesday: “How come every time they count Mail-In ballot dumps they are so devastating in their percentage and power of destruction?”
Trump had claimed without evidence that the expansion of mail-in ballot, otherwise known as postal voting, in the 2020 U.S. general elections had led to widespread electoral fraud.
“Mail-in ballots are very dangerous – there’s tremendous fraud involved,” BBC had quoted the U.S. president to have said.
But responding on Wednesday, Anonymous said that while Trump was busy campaigning against mail-in ballot and allegedly asking Republicans to turn out to vote only on election day, Democrats encouraged their supporters to use postal voting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It said, “Because Democrats are more afraid of COVID so they didn’t show up on election day, but did mail-in voting, it’s not some kind of conspiracy ya dickhead.
“Trump spent months trying to scare Republicans out of mail-in voting, and campaigned for them to show up en-masse on election day, this is a situation you created yourself.”
Meanwhile, ahead of election day, the electorate were said to have cast over 94 million ballots via mail-in voting.
