UN Lauds Nigeria’s Response To Coronavirus Pandemic

The United Nations has praised Nigeria for showing remarkable response in containing the Coronavirus pandemic.

The UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, who disclosed this, lauded a developing country like Nigeria, for swiftly intervening in putting measures in place to curb the covid-19 spread.

“It is quite impressive to see for instance, Nigeria, putting in place immediately and establishing hospitals.

“I saw much more difficulty in countries that are much more developed to quickly do the same,” he said.

He said that the efforts made by the Nigerian government and relevant stakeholders, represents a very strong determination needed to handle crisis.

But he added that despite the feat, lack of funds is a big threat to developing countries.

“Resources available are insufficient and the health services are extremely out of proportion with the needs of pandemic like this.

“Massive support to developing world is absolutely necessary,” he said.
