United Nigeria Airlines Considers Building Maintenance, Repairs Facility In Enugu

United Nigeria Airlines (UNA) has expressed its intention to establish a Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Enugu State, pending approval from the state government.

UNA Chairman, Prof. Obiora Okonkwo, met with Governor Peter Mbah at the Government House in Enugu to discuss the airline’s plans.

Prof. Okonkwo highlighted UNA’s desire to solidify its presence in the state, which currently serves as its base, by constructing an MRO facility, strategic head office, and staff quarters.

He emphasized the numerous economic benefits this project would bring to Enugu, aligning with Governor Mbah’s vision for attracting investment to the state.

Mbah expressed his support for UNA’s vision, highlighting the project’s alignment with his government’s focus on fostering a business-friendly environment.

He assured Prof. Okonkwo of the state government’s commitment to attracting investment and addressing concerns like security, which he stated has significantly improved in recent times. Governor Mbah further appointed the Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Obi Ozor, as a liaison between UNA and the state government to facilitate smooth collaboration.

This proposed MRO facility, if approved, could potentially boost Enugu’s economy and contribute to the state’s overall development strategy.
