VIDEO: Sanwo-Olu Regains Popularity As Lagosians Hail Him During Visit To Fagba

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, may have found his way back into the hearts of Lagosians barely a week after some residents burnt down his family house in show of anger.

A viral social media video showed the governor being cheered by residents during his visit to Fagba in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday.

Sanwo-Olu was said to have gone to settle an ethnic dispute in the community when he was thronged by some residents.

THE WHISTLER recalls that some hoodlums had vented their anger by razing Sanwo-Olu’s mother’s house situated on Omididun Street, Lagos Island, after the recent shooting of unarmed #EndSARS protesters at the Lekki toll gate by Nigerian soldiers.

The suspected hoodlums carried out the attack on the suspicion that the governor may have endorsed the unleashing of soldiers on the peaceful protesters.

The governor had afterwards granted an interview to Arise TV where he was asked how he intended to get Lagosians to love him again after the ugly incident.

Sanwo-Olu had said, “How do we come back to the Jide Sanwo-Olu that you know? This is me…this is who I am. I’m your governor that you all truly elected last year and I want to continue to thank you for that.

“The unfortunate incident two days ago…It’s not me, it doesn’t define my person, it is not what I stand for, it is not what I believe in.”
