The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai, has jocularly described Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as the Chairman of the National Association of Short People.
He added, “ So, we are represented at the highest echelons of governance.”
El-Rufai was reacting to a tweet by a comedian, Olateju Oyelakin, known professionally as Teju Babyface, containing a video of an interview he had with El-Rufai ten years ago, where they spoke about short people. Oyelakin himself has a short stature like el-Rufai.
Babyface described the governor as self-deprecating in the tweet.
In the interview aired ten years ago, Babyface asked El-Rufai whether he has ever worried about his height and el-Rufai, said, “ In my teenage years, and in my early 20s I had big issues with my height, because all the pretty girls turned out to be taller than me, but with time I got over it. I managed to get a real pretty and intelligent woman to marry who was an inch shorter than me.”
El-Rufai tweeted on Monday: “Yes…..I remember this @Tejubabyfacetv interview in 2010…..how time flies….HE VP Osinbajo is the current chairman of the Nigerian Association of Short People….so we are represented at the highest echelons of governance! Thanks Teju.”
