We Have Given COVID-19 Equipment To All Hospitals – FG

The federal government says it has given Coronavirus (COVID-19) equipments to all hospitals across the country.

Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, stated this on Thursday during the presidential taskforce briefing on COVID-19, while answering a question on testing equipments in hospitals.

Ehanire said hospitals handling coronavirus cases would be given more, adding that the ministry would distribute to all hospitals, especially those which would need them most.

He said “Every hospital has a starter-pack of equipment. Those handling COVID-19 cases will get more.”

According to him, there was a global shortage of equipment, even among developed countries, stressing that was the reason the ministry was doing a stockpile, so as not to run into a shortage.

He said people, who have COVID-19 symptoms should go straight to a centre where they could be tested and get the result on the spot.

The minister also disclosed that clinical trials were currently going on, and called on Nigerians to respect the lockdown and follow medical advice.
