Why IGP Alkali-Baba Visited Lagos
Contrary to reports that the Inspector-General of Police visited Lagos State on Tuesday to assess the recent building collapse in the state, it has been revealed that IGP Usman Alkali-Baba’s visit is work-related.
Some Nigerians had criticised the police chief after some newspapers reported that he was visiting Lagos over a 21-story building that collapsed along Gerrard Road, Ikoyi.

But a source at the force headquarters told THE WHISTLER that the IGP was in Lagos “to address a seminar put together by the AIG (Assistant Inspector-General), Zone 2”.

This newspaper gathered that the seminar for capacity building was held at the zone 2 police command in the Onikan area of the state.
