Yari also expressed supports for the approval to register new members into the APC by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Yari disclosed this Friday after meeting with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.

He said: “I think we are on track because you need to know the number of members, the followers, you have through the party register.

“Registration is on-going, as usual, but when the party takes decision to do it over and over, maybe to update with new technology or to bring system that would not be manipulated; I think we are on track.”

According to him, the registration exercise would enable the APC to determine the number of members it has in each of the polling units and work with such numbers.

“Since we have about 190, 000 polling units; it is assumed that if we have 100 members per polling unit, you can know that you have 19,000,000 people.

“Usually, in presidential elections in the country, we have 15, 000,000 to 16, 000, 000. So, you will be comfortable that you have a good number to fly in 2023,”he said.

He added that the reconciliation efforts of the APC Caretaker Committee led by Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has given “the party the green light that for sure by 2023, we will come together and pick it again.”

Yari stressed that the caretaker committee has brought calm into the APC and that there were no longer much complaints in the party.

“The Buni caretaker committee is doing a good job. They are going slowly but steadily. In the five months, I can understand that they are putting the register in order.”
