The two sisters and their brother were whisked away despite pleas by the parents.

The boy was said to have been subsequently sent back with a message for his father, to prepare for a ransom for his sisters’ freedom.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh is yet to react to queries from THE WHISTLER on the authenticity and details of the incident.

Kubwa, a suburb in the FCT has intermittently recorded incidents of kidnap, with the perpetrators demanding huge ransom for the victim’s freedom.

On December 10, kidnappers invaded the Kubwa Extension II Relocation Estate along Arab Road abducting a woman and her three children.

A year earlier in December 2022, a similar kidnap case was recorded and the assailants demanded N1 billion for the victim’s release.

Other incidents of kidnapping have also been recorded in the Bwari and Kuje Area Councils of Abuja and other suburbs in the fringes of the territory in the past two months, with huge ransoms reportedly paid.

In response to the menace, the Nigeria Police Force inaugurated a Special Intervention Squad (SIS) in the FCT to address the increasing rate of crime in the territory.
