AFCON: Rohr Name 24-Man Squad For Seychelles Clash

Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, on Friday released a list of 24 players for next month’s 2018 Africa Cup of Nations crucial qualifying clash against Seychelles in Victoria.

The players are expected to arrive camp starting from September 1, in Abuja, for the encounter scheduled to hold on September 8th.

As expected, the Franco-German, stuck with most of the regulars in the team, but captain John Mikel Obi, who recently returned from injury, among the big absentees.

Shehu Abdullahi and Tyronne Ebuehi who were part of the team to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia also miss out due to injury.

Nigeria host Libya’s Mediterranean Knights on Matchday 3 on October 10. The Super Eagles will play away to the Knights three days later, before flying to South Africa for the return against the Bafana Bafana on November 17.

The last match of the series will see the Eagles hosting Seychelles on March 22, 2019.

The 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations will be staged in Cameroon in the summer of next year.
