Anambra Neighbourhood Watch Group Finds Missing Child

The Anambra State Police Command, Saturday, announced that it had found a missing child in the state. According to a statement made available to THE WHISTLER in Awka, and signed by the police public relations officer of the state, SP Haruna Mohammed, the child was found by members of a vigilante group, and brought to the police.

The statement read that, “On the 1/8/2020, at about 8:am, the chairman of the vigilante group, Oba, in Idemili South Local Government Area of the state, brought a male child of about two years old to Oba Police Station. The child is about two feet tall, and fair in complexion with small tribal marks.”

He said the boy was found wandering around Oba International Market, and could neither mention his name, find his way back home nor state where he came from, adding that the child ‘is presently in the protective care of the Oba Divisional Anti-Human Trafficking Unit pending the identification of his parents or guardian’.

The statement requests members of the public to assist the police in locating the parents or guardians of the child, and called for channeling of any useful information or contacts to Oba Divisional Police Station, or contact the PPRO, Anambra State Police Command, on GSM no 08060970639.
