Aramide To Be Inducted Into Grammys Governing Board

Nigerian singer, Aramide Sarumoh popularly known as Aramide is set to join eighteen other persons in the music industry to be inducted into the Recording Academy governing board of the Grammys

The music star made this known via her Twitter page on Friday, June 14, 2019, where she disclosed that after being an active voter of the Grammys recording academy for years, she finally gets to be inducted in its board.

She wrote: “And today I’m happy to announce to you that after being an active voting member of the recording academy for years, this Monday, I will be inducted into the Recording Academy (the GRAMMYs®) Governance Board. I will now be a part of the Governors for the Washington DC Chapter board,” she tweeted.

Aramide joins 18 other international members in the yet to be constituted board.

Aramide’s music quest started in 2006 when she contested on ‘Star Quest’ one of Nigeria’s most prestigious and competitive music talent hunt shows. Her band did very well in the competition as they were judged the 3rd Runners Up.

In 2008, she was a part of a show called ‘Divas Unplugged’ in the famous city of Jos in Nigeria; the show had all the leading female artists in the Nigerian music industry. On September 9, 2014, she got signed to Baseline Music after exiting from Trybe Records.

On February 4, 2015, Aramide released her first single under Baseline Music, “Iwo Nikan”, which ended up not just being a single but a breakthrough for her and the label Baseline Music. She won Best Vocal Performance for the same song “Iwo Nikan” at The Headies Award 2015.
