Gunners captain, Pierre-Emerick Aubumeyang put his team in front 12 minutes into the game but the lead was cancelled in the second half by Takumi Minamino at the 73rd minute to bring the game to a penalty shootout.

Liverpool missed a chance when Rhian Brewster put the ball too high and Aubumeyang took the last kick which he converted to land the Gunners their first title in the new season.

The loss makes it the second time Jurgen Klopp would lose the community shield as the coach of Liverpool.
