Abia Gov Sacks Cabinet, Recalls Suspended Chief Of Staff

Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has dissolved the state’s Executive Council with immediate effect from Saturday, January 23, THE WHISTLER reports.

A source in the Abia State Government House confirmed to this website that Governor Ikpeazu had directed the Secretary to the State Government, Chris Ezem, to issue a statement to that effect.

It was learnt that Ezem and three commissioners were, however, retained in the dissolution of the state executive council.

Those retained are the Commissioner for Information, John Okiyi Kalu, Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Uche Ihediwa, and Commissioner for Health Dr Joe Osuji.

Governor Ikpeazu had sworn in the executive council on October 17, 2019, after winning a second 4-year term in office.

THE WHISTLER also gathered that the governor has recalled his Chief of Staff, Dr. A.C.B Agbazuere, who was suspended after a viral video showed him spraying money on controversial South East Pastor, Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly called Odumeje.

The video had since been declared doctored by a High Court in Abia State.
