BREAKING: Armed Policemen Take Over Benue House Of Assembly

The Benue State House of Assembly has been cordoned off by the heavily armed Policemen.

The security operatives blocked the main entrance leading to the assembly complex, thereby preventing workers from gaining entrance.

According to reports, the legislators loyal to the All Progressives Congress have begun the impeachment proceedings against governor Samuel Ortom, who recently dumped the party.

Ortom had last week defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

THE WHISTLER could not immediately verify if lawmakers loyal to the governor were allowed inside the premises, but eyewitnesses say the police invasion is an attempt by the opposition party to reinstate the sacked Speaker, Rt Hon Terkimbi Ikyange.
