BREAKING: Nigeria Confirms Second Coronavirus Case

Nigeria has confirmed a second case of Coronavirus (COVID-19), barely two weeks after an Italian who travelled to Lagos from Milan tested positive for the virus.

The second COVID-29 case was detected in a Nigerian who had contact with the Italian who first tested positive for the deadly disease.

The new case was confirmed by the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire, during a press conference in Edo state on Monday.

Ehanire said the man had been under isolation for the last two weeks before testing positive for the virus.

He has now been quarantined and is currently undergoing treatment at the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba, Lagos, said the minister.

Also confirming the incident, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) tweeted on Monday: “This second case is a contact of the index case, in Ogun state.
