BREAKING: Obaseki Re-elected Edo Governor In Landslide Victory

Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has emerged as the winner of the just concluded Edo State governorship election.

Obaseki won the election after polling a total of 307,955 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, who scored 223,619 at the September 19 polls.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted the election in 2,627 polling units, 192 wards and 18 local government areas in the state.

Obaseki, who was first elected governor on the platform of the APC in 2016, had recently defected to the PDP alongside his supporters after his erstwhile party denied him its governorship ticket.

APC : 223,619
PDP : 307,955
