Daura was directed to hand over to the most senior officer at the State Security Service, SSS.

Akande is yet to give further details on Daura’s sack, however, the development may not be unconnected to the blockage of the National Assembly by operatives of the DSS.

The operatives turned away cars of lawmakers and other National Assembly staff.

No reason was been given for the siege, but one of the operatives said “it is order from above”.

Recall that Senate President Bukola Saraki had called for a leadership meeting of the national assembly.

Saraki was also expected to meet with Mahmoud Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

It is not clear if the meeting scheduled for Tuesday afternoon will still hold after today’s turn of events.
