BREAKING: Senate Shuts Plenary, Go In Search Of Dino Melaye

The Nigerian Senate, on Wednesday, adjourned its plenary to seek out the whereabouts of Senator Dino Melaye who, for the third time in 48hrs, was arrested by police operatives in Abuja.

Senator Melaye, it would be recalled, was re-arrested last night after he was reported to have jumped off a moving police vehicle while being conveyed to Lokojo, Kogi State, to face some criminal charges levelled against him.

Moving a motion during Wednesday’s plenary of the Senate, Senator Oluremi Tinubu asked the Senate to adjourn the plenary to enable the lawmakers launch a search in bid to know the whereabouts of their colleague.

Recall also that the police had on Tuesday trailed the Senator, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District in the Senate, to Zankli hospital in Abuja where he was receiving medical attention and re-arrested him.

The police want the federal lawmaker to make appearance in Lokoja to testify to his innocence or otherwise regarding the allegations by some political thugs who accused him of arming them.
