Buhari Is Well And Fine, Says Saraki After Phone Call With President

Senate President, Bukola Saraki has dispelled concerns over the health status of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Senate President said late Wednesday night via his official Twitter handle that he spoke with President Buhari and he was “in good spirits”.

Saraki’s statement comes hours after the Minister of Information And Culture Lai Mohammed confirmed on Wednesday that the president was doing well and he was not in any hospital.

Recall that President Buhari embarked on a 10-day medical vacation last month and had to extend his leave indefinitely earlier this week citing health concerns.

The decision of President Buhari to extend his vacation raised concerns from different corners on his health, with some questioning his capacity to rule the country.

The phone conversation between Saraki and President Buhari may not be unconnected to the Federal Government’s increased charges against the Senate President at the Code of Conduct Tribunal on Wednesday.

Saraki is currently facing charges on false declaration of assets during his tenure As Governor of Kwara State.
