Buhari Meets Freed UNIMAID Lecturers In Aso Rock

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with the three freed lecturers of the University of Maiduguri and one of the women released recently by the Boko Haram sect at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

They arrived the Presidential Villa by 12 noon and were received by the President, before proceeding into the Villa.

Among those in the meeting with President Buhari include a policewoman and nine civilian-relations of a female officer whose corpse was being taken for burial when they were ambushed by the sect.

It will be recalled that the lecturers were abducted by the Boko Haram in the Magumeri area of Borno state during a trip on oil exploration, while the women were kidnapped in a raid by the militant group on a military/police convoy on Damboa road, near Maiduguri.

Presidential spokesman, Malam Garba Shehu, had disclosed earlier that the victims were set free following a negotiation with the insurgents.

The negotiations were directed by President Buhari and were facilitated by the International Committee of the Red Cross.
