Two persons are currently trapped under a rubble after a four storey building collapsed in Abuja in the early hours of Monday, August 29, 2016.

The structure, believed to be an office building, is located on Plot 444 around Citec Villas in Gwarinpa Estate.

According to officials of the Red Cross, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), who are currently carrying out the rescue operation, six others have been saved and taken to the hospital.

It was gathered that the building served as residence for some construction workers, who could not be immediately verified.

According to Vanguard, the building belongs to a former governor of Osun State.

This is the second building collapse in Abuja in about one week, as last Wednesday a building came down in Apo Mechanic Village
