CAF Championship: Lalong Donates 32-Seater Bus To Plateau United Ahead Of Simba Sc Clash

Ahead of the CAF Champions League clash between Plateau United and Tanzanian side Simba SC, the governor of Plateau state, Simon Lalong, on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to the training ground of the team and promised to deliver a 32-Seater bus to the team before Sunday.

Lalong, while talking to the team and the team’s management, said his visit was to congratulate them on their success in winning the Nigerian Premier League for the second time and was in no doubt that they would bring the CAF trophy home as they have learned lessons from their past errors.

“I am here first of all to congratulate you for winning the Nigerian Premier League for the second time which qualifies you to represent Nigeria at the CAF Champions League. I have no doubt that you will bring home the trophy having learnt from the mistakes of the past and made serious improvements.”

He also advised the team to brace up to the challenges ahead as they are not only representing the state but the whole country and promised that his government will support the team to do well in the tournament.

“Remember you are not only representing Plateau State but Nigerians, as such you have to brace up and win the match convincingly.

“As a government, we will continue to support you to ensure you do well in the CAF Champions League and the Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL.”

The governor also promised the team a brand new 32-seater bus and assured that it would be delivered before the weekend and also an official car for the head coach, Abdu Maikaba.

Plateau united will on Sunday at the Jos international stadium kick off their CAF Champions League campaign first leg tie of the first preliminary rounds against the Simba SC of Tanzania.
